Praying with creation, and all the company of creation
BlueGreen Theology begins where water meets earth: in the conviction that creation has been praising God since long before we arrived — and that our calling is not to pray for creation, but to pray with it. Following St. Francis of Assisi, who called the sun his brother and the moon his sister, you are invited to pray alongside Brother Sun and Sister Water, Brother Wind and Sister Mother Earth, and all the company of creation whose praise has never stopped.
Seven companions, with a fixed Opening and Closing. Meet as many as you wish, in any order — about three minutes each.
Francis of Assisi, c. 1224
Turn on the companions you wish to pray with — as many or as few as you like. They keep Francis's own order, closing with Sister Bodily Death.
Enter where you are drawn. Stay as long as you need.
